Let’s not sugarcoat it, life is hard. For some, it’s a daily grind for survival. For others, the challenges come dressed in different forms like loss, failure, heartbreak, or doubt. The playing field isn’t level, unfortunately. Some start the race ahead, armed with advantages they didn’t earn. Others begin with obstacles stacked against them. But one thing is the same, We can try.
Trying is free. It doesn’t require a bank account, a degree, or a perfect résumé. It demands only the decision to move forward, even when the odds are against us. Effort is our universal currency. We may not all get the same outcomes, but we can all choose action over surrender.
Trying isn’t just about chasing big dreams. Sometimes, it’s just showing up. It’s getting out of bed when you’d rather hide. It’s applying for the job after a dozen rejections. It’s having the hard conversation. It’s starting again after you fall.
This isn’t to say trying is easy. It’s not. It’s exhausting. It can feel pointless. But giving up guarantees one thing, nothing will change. As Rosa Parks put it, “We will fail when we fail to try.” Her words weren’t theoretical. They were lived. She stood up by sitting down, not knowing what the consequences would be, only that inaction wasn’t an option anymore.
Trying keeps hope alive. It’s not blind optimism. It's the refusal to let circumstances define your entire story. Hope without effort is fantasy. Effort without hope is burnout. But together, they’re fuel for real progress and can change your life.
So, no matter where you start or what you're facing, keep trying. You don’t have to sprint. You don’t have to win every day. But you do have to move. Crawl if you must. Rest when you need. But don’t quit.
Because the minute you stop trying, the fight is over. And if there’s still breath in your body, you’ve still got a shot.
Keep going and trying.
